These Terms & Conditions explain the general policies that apply when you contact Frank Tattoo Arts, request a tattoo consultation, reserve an appointment, pay a deposit, or receive tattoo services from us.
Ashe Tattoo LLC operates under the name Frank Tattoo Arts. The business mailing address above is separate from Frank’s tattooing location at Inkspired Art Tattoo Studio, 7424 NW River Park Dr, Parkville, Missouri.
By booking an appointment or paying a deposit, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and accepted the booking, deposit, cancellation, and rescheduling policies described below.
1. Consultations and Tattoo Requests
Tattoo inquiries may be discussed through our website, email, social media, InkDesk, or other communication methods we make available.
Before accepting a project, we may request information such as the desired tattoo subject, placement, approximate size, reference images, photographs of the area to be tattooed, and photographs of existing tattoos when relevant.
Submitting an inquiry, discussing a project, receiving a price estimate, or completing a consultation does not by itself reserve an appointment. An appointment is reserved only after the required deposit has been received and the booking has been confirmed.
We reserve the right to decline a project when we reasonably believe that the requested work is outside the artist’s style, technical approach, availability, or ability to achieve an appropriate result.
2. Appointments and Deposits
A deposit is required to reserve an appointment. Unless a different amount is specifically agreed upon for a particular appointment, the standard deposit is $500 for each session or appointment date reserved.
All deposits are non-refundable. The deposit is applied toward the price of the corresponding tattoo session and is not an additional charge. The remaining balance for that session is due on the day of the appointment.
A deposit reserves a specific appointment date and commits time in the artist’s schedule. An appointment is not considered confirmed until the required deposit has been received and the booking has been accepted.
Each deposit remains valid for one year from the original payment date, subject to the rescheduling conditions described below.
Deposits may be paid using the payment methods we make available at the time of booking, which may include Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, credit card, or payment in person.
3. Multi-Session Projects
Large tattoo projects may require multiple sessions. An estimate of the number of sessions is provided for planning purposes and is not a guarantee of the exact amount of time required to complete the tattoo.
You are not required to pay for an entire multi-session project upfront. Each appointment is booked and paid for individually unless another arrangement is specifically agreed upon.
For example, if a project is estimated to require three sessions, you may reserve only the first session and pay one deposit. If you want to secure multiple appointment dates in advance, a separate deposit is required for each date reserved.
The remaining balance for each session is paid on the day that session takes place.
4. Pricing and Estimates
Pricing may be based on an hourly rate, a full-day session rate, or another price specifically agreed upon for the project.
Any estimate concerning tattooing time or the number of sessions is based on the information available at the time of the estimate. Actual tattooing time can vary depending on factors such as final size, placement, level of detail, design changes, existing tattoos, cover-up requirements, skin characteristics, healing, and the progress made during each session.
For multi-session projects, the final total price depends on the number and type of sessions actually required to complete the agreed work.
Any applicable price and deposit amount will be communicated before the appointment is reserved.
5. Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change. A deposit may be transferred to a new appointment date when the rescheduling request is made at least 7 days before the scheduled appointment.
Each deposit may be transferred to a new appointment date a maximum of three times. A fourth rescheduling request will require a new deposit.
Deposits remain valid for one year from the original payment date. All eligible rescheduled appointments must fall within this one-year validity period unless Frank Tattoo Arts agrees otherwise in writing.
A rescheduling request made less than 7 days before the scheduled appointment will result in the loss of the deposit, and a new deposit will be required to reserve another appointment date, except where Frank Tattoo Arts expressly agrees otherwise due to exceptional circumstances.
The client is responsible for contacting us within the applicable time limits to request a change and arrange a new appointment.
6. Cancellations and No-Shows
All deposits are non-refundable. Deposits reserve time in the artist’s schedule and also account for administrative and preparation time associated with the booking.
If you choose to cancel your appointment rather than reschedule it in accordance with the policy above, the deposit will not be refunded.
If you fail to attend your appointment without notice, the deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be required before another appointment can be reserved.
If Frank Tattoo Arts needs to reschedule an appointment, your deposit will remain valid and will be transferred to the new agreed appointment date without counting toward your three permitted rescheduling requests.
If Frank Tattoo Arts cancels the appointment and is unable to provide the booked service or offer a reasonable alternative appointment, the deposit for that unperformed appointment will be refunded.
7. Late Arrivals
Please arrive at the agreed appointment time. If you expect to be late, contact us as soon as possible.
Significant lateness may reduce the amount of tattooing that can be completed during the scheduled session or, when the delay makes it impractical or unsafe to proceed, may require the appointment to be rescheduled.
Repeated or substantial lateness may require a new deposit when meaningful appointment time has been lost.
8. Design Process and Changes
Tattoo designs created for clients are custom artwork. Reference images are used to communicate ideas, style, subject matter, composition, or other preferences and do not necessarily represent the exact final tattoo.
For custom projects, the final design may be adjusted to suit the client’s anatomy, placement, movement, tattooable area, existing tattoos, technical requirements, and the artist’s professional judgment.
Reasonable design adjustments can be discussed before tattooing begins. Major changes to the original concept, placement, size, style, or subject matter may require additional preparation, a different amount of tattooing time, a revised price estimate, or a new appointment.
The client will have an opportunity to review and discuss the design before tattooing begins. Tattooing will not begin until the client has approved the design and placement and any required informed consent has been completed.
9. Cover-Ups and Existing Tattoos
Cover-up work is evaluated individually. Whether an existing tattoo can be successfully covered depends on factors such as its size, location, color, saturation, age, scarring, and the proposed new design.
We may recommend changes to the requested design, a larger tattoo, darker or strategically placed elements, or laser lightening before proceeding when appropriate.
A consultation or preliminary assessment does not guarantee that every existing tattoo can be completely concealed. The final approach will be discussed with the client before tattooing begins.
10. Age, Identification, and Consent
Frank Tattoo Arts provides tattoo services only to clients who are 18 years of age or older, regardless of parental or guardian consent.
A valid government-issued photo ID may be required before the tattoo procedure to verify identity and age. We reserve the right to refuse or postpone the appointment if satisfactory proof of age or identity cannot be provided.
Clients must provide truthful and accurate information relevant to the tattoo procedure and must complete all required consent forms before tattooing begins.
No tattoo procedure will be performed on a person who appears to be under the influence of alcohol, controlled substances, or otherwise unable to provide informed consent.
11. Health and Safety
Before the procedure, clients must disclose information reasonably relevant to whether the tattoo can be performed safely and must follow the instructions provided by the artist.
A tattoo procedure may be postponed or declined when the artist identifies a condition that makes tattooing inappropriate or unsafe at that time, including certain visible skin conditions or other contraindications.
Tattooing involves breaking the skin and carries inherent risks. Before tattooing begins, clients will be provided with or asked to complete the applicable informed consent documentation. These Terms & Conditions do not replace that informed consent.
12. Healing and Aftercare
Clients are responsible for following the aftercare instructions provided following the tattoo procedure.
Healing varies from person to person and can be affected by skin characteristics, health, aftercare, sun exposure, physical activity, environmental factors, and other circumstances outside the artist’s control.
If you have concerns about how a tattoo is healing, contact us. Tattoo artists do not provide medical diagnosis or medical treatment. Seek appropriate medical care when necessary.
13. Artwork and Intellectual Property
Custom drawings, concepts, sketches, and tattoo designs created by Frank remain the artist’s creative work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Payment for a tattoo service does not automatically transfer copyright or other intellectual property rights in the underlying artwork.
Designs prepared for a particular client may not be reproduced, sold, commercially exploited, or provided to another tattoo artist for reproduction without permission where applicable law protects those rights.
Reference material supplied by a client should be material the client is entitled to share. Providing a reference image does not guarantee that it will be reproduced exactly.
14. Photography and Portfolio Use
Photographs may be taken for documentation of the completed tattoo. Permission to publish identifiable photographs in a portfolio, on the website, or on social media will be handled separately where appropriate.
Providing photographs during an inquiry or consultation does not by itself authorize Frank Tattoo Arts to publish those photographs.
15. Right to Refuse or Stop a Procedure
We reserve the right to decline, postpone, or stop a tattoo procedure when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, professional standards, inappropriate or threatening conduct, material changes to the agreed project, or circumstances that prevent the artist from performing the work appropriately.
Any deposit or payment issue arising from a procedure that is declined, postponed, or stopped will be handled according to the circumstances, the work already performed or prepared, these Terms & Conditions, and applicable law.
16. Results and Artistic Variation
Tattooing is a custom artistic service performed on living skin. Images in our portfolio demonstrate previous work but do not guarantee an identical result for another client.
Final appearance can vary based on anatomy, skin tone and characteristics, placement, healing, aging, sun exposure, aftercare, and other individual factors.
We will perform accepted projects according to applicable professional standards, but no particular healed appearance can be guaranteed where the outcome depends on factors outside the artist’s reasonable control.
17. Website Information
Information on franktattooarts.com is provided for general informational purposes. Portfolio photographs, descriptions, estimated session counts, general pricing information, and other website content do not constitute a guaranteed quote or guarantee that a particular project will be accepted.
A project-specific price, estimated number of sessions, and booking requirements may be provided after we have enough information to evaluate the request.
18. Privacy
Personal information submitted through the website, consultations, booking process, and related communications is handled as described in our
Privacy Policy.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions when our services, booking procedures, business practices, or applicable requirements change.
The version applicable to a booking will generally be the version presented or made available when the booking is made, unless a later change is required by law or is separately agreed upon.
20. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions and tattoo services performed in Missouri are governed by applicable United States federal law and the laws of the State of Missouri, without limiting any rights that cannot lawfully be waived or restricted.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, waive, or limit rights or obligations that cannot legally be excluded, waived, or limited.
